TAHMO

School 2 School Initiative

TAHMO’s goal is to install 20,000 on-the-ground sensing stations every 30 km across the African continent, specifically designed to provide rainfall, temperature, and other critical data from robust redundant sensors.

The data recorded every five minutes is sent via a cellular network near real time to a server where the data undergoes quality control before being made available on our online data portal for downloading.

Most of our stations are installed in schools where students and teachers have access to the weather stations and the data collected to use for their lessons. In addition the aim is to link African schools with partner schools in Europe and the United States to foster international school partnerships.

TAHMO has created a list of lesson plans which can be downloaded here to assist teachers in using the collected data for their lessons. Of course we are always interested in increasing the list of our lesson plans thus if you are interested in joining the initiative by creating new lesson plans feel free to contact us at info@tahmo.org.
