H2020 Oasis Innovation Hub for Catastrophe and Climate Extremes Risk Assessment (Oasis Insurance Project)

This H2020 project looked at how the resilience of societies that suffer from the negative impact of climate extreme events can be increased through insurance. It involves risk assessment for the Global Insurance Sector and how to help societies recover from loss and damage of people, assets, and property as a result of climate extreme events. It is led by the Potsdam University in Germany with Dr. Fred F. Hattermann as the Coordinator and includes other partners from Austria, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Kenya, Serbia, Spain, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. It has set up well-structured and sustainable services in the insurance sector – demonstrating the added value of climate services in the sector and beyond.
