TAHMO Collaborates with the Netherlands Embassy, SODEXAM and the Red Cross Society in Côte d'Ivoire

Partnership with the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHS) is essential for TAHMO’s success. In view of this, TAHMO is setting up a collaborative framework with the Société d’Exploitation et de Développement Aéroportuaire, Aéronautique et Météorologique (SODEXAM) with the support of the Netherlands Embassy in Abidjan and the Red Cross Society in Côte d’Ivoire through the Netherlands-African Business Council (https://www.nabc.nl/). This framework will seek to develop weather and climate services for the Agriculture and Disaster Risk Management sectors together with SODEXAM and its’ current partners, the Red Cross Society of Côte d’Ivoire and TAHMO and its’ partners. In view of this, 10 stations will be installed in Cote d’Ivoire by the first Quarter of 2020. The first station was co-located with a SODEXAM station in Abidjan in November 2019. Through this partnership, we hope the network of stations will grow with time to improve the services being developed for the sectors of interest. TAHMO has already installed close to 600 stations in Sub-Saharan Africa with the support of the National Meteorological Services in 21 Countries and other TAHMO partners.
